President and CEO
Dean Re heads up the private equity group that bought Metals Engineering on March 31, 2019, with the goal of expanding services and enhancing its status as one of the leading heat treating companies in the Midwest.
Dean previously spent 20 years with MECA & Technology Machine Inc. in Green Bay, finishing his tenure as majority owner and president. He also sat on the advisory board for Metals Engineering, which has a long relationship a service provider for MECA.
Brandon Leatherberry holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and has nearly 20 years of metallurgical experience:
- 10 years in the steel industry, including time with the former Bethlehem Steel (currently Arcelor Mittal) and Nucor Steel, working primarily with low carbon, medium carbon, and high-strength low alloy steels.
- 3 years with Ingersoll Rand in its Materials Evaluation Group
- 6 years in the foundry industry with the C.A. Lawton Company, working with gray iron and ductile iron
Timothy L. Olson
Business Development Manager
Tim Olson holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He has joined Metals Engineering with over a decade of technical sales experience in machining and manufacturing.
He has worked as a Sales Manager for MECA & Technology Machine, Inc. and as a Sales Engineer for Precision Roll Solutions (which included MECA, I.R. Engraving, GB Embossing, and Industrial Engraving). He provided numerous solutions for customers in the printing and converting industries all over the United States.

Matt Bendig has more than 20 years of manufacturing experience, most recently in a supervisory role with Nemak, a lightweighting solutions provider for the automotive industry. Matt also served in the following capacities:
- Production supervisor – Fairplay Packaging
- Utility worker – Sargento Foods
- Team lead – Dairy Farmers of America
The additional quench and temper, induction and casting process capabilities solidified Metals Engineering’s status as one of the premier heat treating companies in the Midwest.
